We need a Mayor who will investigate, audit and demand sunset claws for all costs, laws, bylaws, and codes in the books and imposed on the people. Government needs to be as restrained, unintrusive, and belt tightening as possible. So people can have more of their own expendable income to spend on what they as an individual define as fun. Not some festivities and art group that helped the Governing Parties enough to gain connections. Not some state run crowd fund. Not any wasted penny that would be better spent by you, and if you think “well I rent,” well where do you think the tax gets kicked to? It is part of your rent. You pay rent to someone who brings the money to the city.
Imagine if you could see your rent itemized to the effect. You might see more outrage.
We can’t promise affordable housing to a satisfactory level if Government is not under control and not affordable and not a huge pain in the ass. Big Government also uses more resources than necessary and therefore a burden on the environment.
