What would I do as leader if I win?
I will likely be confronted with issues in the future, no doubt, of Candidates or requesting Candidates who pushed envelopes or said offensive things or even stupid or bizarre stuff.
For one, I would have stood by Lauren Southern, it’s a black mark on our party how she was dealt with. Ian Tootill, please run with us, in your neighborhood. Or help mine out, if you can.
Hypothetical: Chris “Sky” Saccoccia, he has said bizarre things, however none of it was especially advocating the use of state force on the citizens of the country or even abroad. Not being an asshole, might be a plus, however it isn’t a point of policy. What matters is policy, dedication to much less Government, less intrusive Government. Those policies that further Liberty. Our core principles.
Maybe it’s bold of me, however we need bold. We don’t need to cower over non-authoritarian bad or questionable thoughts. Or unreliable screenshots without permalinks. Show me an authoritarian position, than they are out. Show me a policy that will grow the Canadian Government, than they are out.
I am not fond of parachute Candidacy. It’s ideal people are live where they run, even be seen shopping on day to day business as one of the constituents.
If 2/3s of the local membership request a challenge (with or without a contender) a yes/no vote for all Candidates at a local meeting should be allowed to decide it. 2/3s must show to the meeting. Most yes votes wins. If 2/3s of attendees say no to both Candidates, no one runs.
I’m a Candidate for Leader at the up coming party Convention after Tim Moen’s term ends on the 13th of August. He is not running for re-election.
